Site size : 355 m2
Area : 1100 m2
Site type : residential
The Design and construction of 3-storey residential building consisting of one parking and three residential levels including 6 units .


Function:
Private housing for six families including:
• Four apartment units with 2 bedrooms: 100 m2
• Two apartment units with 3 bedrooms : 190 m2

Basement: parking, stores, mechanical room and stairs
Ground floor: entrance lobby, accessible zone and a residential unit.
First & second floors : each level has 2 residential units and accessible zone.
Third floor : one residential unit and accessible zone.
Site area: 355 m2 including 60 percent: occupancy levels and 40 percent: open space
Design and construction period of time: from May 2013 to August 2015
Main structure: steel structure

Project ideas and concepts: Developing the basic concept of designing a building needs architectural and functional ideas.
In this project these ideas are:
• The site is next to the extensive gardens of shiraz from east and residential context from west.
• Choose to use the garden as an effective platform for the eastern glass facade .
• We tried to use glass surfaces in the western façade in order to smooth out the views.
• In the western façade we had to use double skin façade( glass and brick ) because of the climate issues.
• In order to show the idea of the garden into the building, we have some terraces in the eastern and western facades.

Targets :
• using organic & useful material like brick with maximum contrast with the metal that is representative of modern materials
• Attention to project economy.( The use of inexpensive materials )
• Attention to climatic and environmental terms.
• Attention to ease of techniques.
